01. Who this policy covers

This policy describes Alma Lite v0.1, this product website, and messages you send to the independent developer for support. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to harry-dots@outlook.com.

Alma Lite does not require you to create an Alma account. Third-party AI accounts and services have their own terms and privacy policies. This policy does not replace those policies or Apple’s policies for the App Store and macOS.

02. Audio and local data

Core speech recognition runs locally. Alma Lite processes the microphone, system audio, or media file you select on your Mac, using models included with the app. Alma Lite does not upload that audio to the developer or an AI provider for Core transcription.

Transcripts, timestamps, session settings, custom hotword lists, and saved Action results are stored in the app’s private local storage. Recording audio is saved when you enable audio retention. Selecting a file for transcription does not give Alma Lite permission to upload your other files.

The app does not provide Alma-operated cloud transcript sync, advertising, or an app-usage analytics service. There is no automatic upload of your recordings or transcripts to the developer.

Microphone and system-audio capture require the relevant macOS permissions. You choose when to start, pause, and stop recording. Please obtain any permission required from other participants before recording.

03. Optional AI providers

If you choose to use Transcript Actions, including Structured Notes, the app asks for permission to send content to your selected provider. Safety checks also send text. Signing in to a provider or granting microphone permission is not, by itself, consent to share a transcript.

  • What is sent: selected transcript text, task instructions, relevant earlier outcomes and revision feedback, and the information needed to authenticate and perform the request.
  • Why: to check the submitted content, generate the requested work, and process revisions. If you enable web tools for a task, the provider may also contact external websites or search services.
  • What is not sent by this workflow: the original recording audio or unrelated recordings and arbitrary files on your Mac.

Depending on the providers offered in your build, services may include OpenAI through Codex and Qoder. Review the selected provider in the app before allowing content sharing. Read OpenAI’s privacy policy, the Qoder CN privacy policy, or the Qoder international privacy policy for the service you use.

Your provider receives and processes requests under its own privacy terms and account settings, which may include retention, model-improvement controls, and processing in other countries. We do not operate the provider’s infrastructure and cannot delete its retained copies on your behalf. Consider those practices before submitting personal or confidential information.

Local transcription works without connecting an AI provider. Optional online AI use does not change where Core speech recognition runs.

04. Accounts and credentials

When you connect an available AI provider, the app may receive account information and authorization credentials, such as tokens, needed to use that provider. Credentials are kept in restricted files in the app’s private local container. This version does not store them in macOS Keychain.

Credentials are used for the selected provider’s authentication and requests, not sent to the Alma developer. Provider execution is isolated from ordinary host files; that isolation is not a guarantee against every possible security risk.

Sign out in the app to remove Alma Lite’s local authorization. To revoke a provider token or account access itself, also use the provider’s account controls.

05. This website

This website is hosted by Vercel. Delivering and protecting the site involves processing technical request information, such as your IP address, browser information, requested URL, and request time. Vercel may process logs and use necessary security mechanisms under its privacy policy.

We have not added advertising trackers, Vercel Web Analytics, a mailing-list service, contact forms, or nonessential cookies. The decorative waveform is an illustration: it does not access your microphone or record audio. Fonts and page assets are served with the site.

Links to the App Store or other services, when available, take you to sites governed by their respective privacy policies.

06. Support messages

If you email harry-dots@outlook.com, the developer receives your email address, your message, and any attachments you choose to send. These are used to answer your question, investigate the reported issue, and handle related privacy or security requests—not to add you to a marketing list.

Email is handled through Microsoft Outlook and may be processed by your own email provider as well. See Microsoft’s privacy statement. Send only information needed to explain the issue. Do not send passwords, access tokens, unredacted private transcripts, or recordings unless specifically necessary and agreed.

Support correspondence is retained while needed to resolve the request and maintain a necessary support or security record, or as required by law. You can request deletion by email; any necessary retention or third-party limitations will be explained.

07. Retention and your choices

  • Local sessions: remain on your Mac until you delete them. Deleting a transcript in Alma Lite also removes its associated app-managed Actions and saved recording.
  • Custom hotword lists: remain in local app storage until you edit, clear, or delete them in Settings.
  • Content-sharing permission: can be withdrawn in Provider Settings. This stops active AI work and requires permission before the next send; it cannot retract data already sent.
  • Permissions: microphone and system-audio access can be managed in macOS System Settings.
  • Exports and backups: exported files, original imported media, system backups, and provider-retained copies are not removed when you delete an in-app session.

Removing the app alone may not erase all local app data or backups. Delete the data in the app first when possible, and contact support if you need help locating remaining local files. We cannot remotely access or erase your Mac.

08. Security and your rights

Alma Lite uses macOS app isolation, restricted local storage, and controlled provider execution to limit access. No software or transmission method is perfectly secure. Protect your Mac and provider accounts, and avoid sending highly sensitive information unless you understand the destination and its policies.

The developer does not sell your personal information or use it for cross-service advertising. The app is not directed to children under 13. Provider services may impose additional age restrictions.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restrictions on processing of personal information held by the developer. Contact us to exercise those rights or raise a concern. For data held only on your device, use the app’s local controls; for provider-held information, contact that provider. These distinctions do not limit rights you have under applicable law.

09. Changes and contact

This page will show a new effective date when the policy changes. Material changes to in-app content sharing will be accompanied by an appropriate notice and any required renewed permission before the new use.

For privacy questions, deletion requests, or support, contact the Alma Lite developer at harry-dots@outlook.com. You can also visit the support page.
